$4.5 Million Confidential Birth Injury Settlement

August 19, 2026

The Mason Firm obtained a $4.5 million confidential settlement in a birth injury case involving claims of medical negligence and serious injury to a child. Because the settlement is confidential, the names of the parties, medical providers, facilities, and identifying details cannot be disclosed.

The case involved allegations that health care providers failed to appropriately recognize and respond to signs of fetal distress during labor and delivery, resulting in significant injury to the child.

Birth injury cases are among the most complex medical malpractice cases. They often require detailed review of prenatal records, labor and delivery records, fetal monitoring strips, neonatal records, brain imaging, expert opinions, life-care planning, and the child’s long-term medical and developmental needs.

These cases are not only about what happened in the delivery room. They are also about how a preventable injury affects a child and family for years to come, including future medical care, therapy, equipment, education, support, and quality of life.

The Mason Firm represents families in serious birth injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, and catastrophic injury cases throughout California.

Past results do not guarantee future outcomes. Every case is different and depends on its own facts, evidence, law, damages, insurance coverage, available defendants, and expert opinions.
